12-Year-Old Calls 911 From Closet When Two Men Break Into Home: 'Please Don't Hurt Me!'

A 12-year-old boy who was home alone hid in a closet and frantically called 911 when two men broke into his home.

"There's two strangers and I don't know them... I think they're trying to open the door," the boy told an emergency dispatcher in the 911 call, which was released on Tuesday.

"I'm in the closet," the unidentified boy whispered to the dispatcher. "Please help!"

The break-in unfolded on Monday morning when the youngster was home in Scottsdale, Arizona while his parents were at work.

When he heard a knock at his front door he didn't open it, but saw two men in the backyard. The duo then entered the home, according to police.

The boy ran to the closet and called 911. The dispatcher thinks she's speaking to a woman until she learns his real age half-way through the call, the recording shows.

He tells the dispatcher that the two men can see him.

"Please don't hurt me," the boy said in a quiet whisper. "Oh my God, I don't know what to do."

The dispatcher tells the boy to stay on the phone. He eventually tells her that the police have arrived on the scene.

Officers found one of the men inside the home and the other in a nearby backyard. Both were arrested.

Sergeant Ben Hoster, spokesman for the Scottsdale Police Department, identified the men as Jay Johnson Jr., 36, and Cole Austin Lewallen, 31.
