The families of two teenagers who went missing on a boat trip last month have called off their search.
Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, both 14, failed to return home after heading on a fishing trip off the coast of Jupiter, Florida on July 24.
The families said on Sunday that they have called off their private search.
"We love our boys and want them home,” read a joint statement by the families. “Today, our hope becomes our prayer - that one day Perry and Austin will be returned to us. We thank everyone for their dedicated efforts and support. We will never stop looking for our boys.”
Two days after the boys went missing, their boat was found capsized.
The Coast Guard called off its search a week after they were reported missing. Last week, two life vests were found off the coast of Georgia as a private helicopter company searched for the teenagers.
Perry’s mother, Pamela Cohen, launched a GoFundMe page to fund the search efforts. Now they have ended the search, the leftover funds will be used for boating education for youths, WPTV reported.
