The wife of disgraced Subway pitchman Jared Fogle has filed for divorce after he admitted to possession of child pornography and having sex with minors.

Katie Fogle wasted no time announcing that she is splitting from the father of her two children.

"I am extremely shocked and disappointed,” she said in a statement. "I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage."

Documents seen by INSIDE EDITION shows that Katie filed for divorce on Wednesday.

The papers say: "There has been an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage of the parties, and the Wife requests that the parties' marriage be dissolved."

The documents add that they married in July 2010 - the year he first began traveling to New York for sex acts with minors, according to an affidavit. The couple went on to have two children, born in 2011 and 2013.

Fogle has previously been divorced. In 2006, his then-wife Elizabeth Christie also filed for dissolution of their five-year marriage.

On Wednesday, Jared Fogle agreed to plead guilty to charges of child pornography and traveling for illicit paid sex with minors, according to federal prosecutors.

He victimized 12 minors in Indiana and two in New York during a "five-year criminal scheme to exploit children," U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He added that Fogle had explicit images of children as young as six.

"This is about using wealth, status and secrecy to illegally exploit children," Minkler said.

According to court documents, Fogle traveled from his home in Indiana to some of Manhattan’s hotels, including the Plaza and the Ritz Carlton, to have sex with underage girls.

Under the plea deal, he would serve between five and 12 years behind bars and pay $1.4 million in restitution to 14 minor victims, register as a sex offender and undergo treatment for sexual disorders.

The charges come after previous red flags.

In 2007, VH1 reported that Fogle – who was already famous for his TV commercials on behalf of the fast-food chain - had been known in college as "The Porn Guy."

He ran "a very successful pornography rental company out of his bedroom,” according to the report.
Despite the revelations, Fogle continued to work as a spokesman for Subway – although the company has now cut ties with him.

'We no longer have a relationship with Jared and have no further comment,” it wrote on Facebook.
