The alleged sexual assault unfolded in 2014 at St. Paul's School in New Hampshire. Graduates include Secretary of State John Kerry and former FBI Director Robert Mueller.
The girl was a 15-year-old freshman and her alleged attacker was a senior, 19-year-old Owen Labrie.
“I didn't want any of this, I was so confused. I didn't know what else I could do. I had already said no,” she said at the trial. "I felt like I was out of my body. I didn't want to believe this was happening to me."
The alleged assault took place in a campus building as part of a reported school ritual called "Senior Salute," where senior boys compete to take the virginity of younger female students.
A prosecutor asked the girl court: "Did you think that when you went on the 'Senior Salute' that something like this would happen?"
"No way," she replied.

Labrie claims they never had sex and their encounter was consensual. In opening statements, his attorney read jurors a text from the victim, where she agreed to meet "only if it's our little secret."
In another text, Labrie wrote to her: "You're a gem." She replied: "You're not too bad yourself."
On the Today show, Laura Dunn, an advocate for sexual assault victims, said the case is taking a toll on the girl and her family.
“They're no longer at that school, or living in the area. But they have some strong supporters," she said.
"They are supporting each other at this time. and they're doing what they believe is right, which is speaking out against sexual violence,” she said.
