American Hero Who Stopped Terrorist on French Train Joins Dancing With the Stars
Alek Skarlatos, an Army National Guard Specialist, will join celebrities to show off his moves in the new season.
The American hero who helped take down a terrorist on a train in France two weeks ago will appear on Dancing With the Stars.
Army National Guard Specialist Alek Skarlatos, 22, will show off his moves alongside celebrities in the show's 21st season.
He was awarded the Legion of Honor by the President of France alongside two friends, Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone and student Anthony Sadler. They helped bring down an alleged attacker, Ayoub El Khazzani, who was armed with guns and a box cutter aboard the Paris-bound train.
Skarlatos, who is from California, appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday as the DWTS line-up was announced. He was asked what his friends will think of his dancing.
“I don’t want to think about that,” he answered.
He added: "I think it'll be fun. I hope I learn a lot. I'll need to if I'm going to stay on very long."
Paula Deen, Chaka Khan, Bindi Irwin and Gary Busey will also be taking part in the show.
