Nick Gordon Admits Arguing With Bobbi Kristina But Denies Causing Her Death
On Tuesday, Gordon's attorney filed a response to the lawsuit filed against him in Fulton County Superior Court earlier this year.
Nick Gordon has denied allegations that he caused Bobbi Kristina Brown's wrongful death - as his attorney asks a court to dismiss a lawsuit against him, calling the claims "slanderous and without merit."
On Tuesday, Gordon's attorney filed a response to the lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina's conservator in Fulton County Superior Court earlier this year.
The suit, which was originally brought in June, accused the 25-year-old of his girlfriend's wrongful death, claiming that he had given her a "toxic cocktail" before putting her face down in a full bathtub in January.
The suit, which also accused him of assaulting Bobbi Kristina and stealing money from her, asked for $10 million in damages.
But his attorney's response has denied most of the allegations in the complaint, including that he claimed he had married Bobbi Kristina in order to "control" her and benefit from her wealth.
It said that there is no proof of the "several false criminal and fivolous claims" against him.
It adds that Gordon admits that he argued with Bobbi Kristina on the night of the incident, but says that he tried to wake her up and performed CPR on her when she was found in the tub.
He also denied other accusations of assault and battery against her.
The attorney, Jose Baez, asked the court to throw out the lawsuit because Gordon is not a resident of Georgia. It states that he lives in Florida.
Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Roswell on January 31. She was ultimately moved to hospice care and passed away on July 26, aged 22. She was buried beside her mother, Whitney Houston, in New Jersey.
