Dentist Offers to Buy Kids' Halloween Candy

A New Mexican dentist wants to buy your leftover Halloween candy.

A dentist in Albuquerque, New Mexico wants to save a few teeth following Halloween this year by buying your children’s candy.

Bryan Wall, of Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico, will purchase candy from children 14 years old or younger and will pay one dollar for every pound of candy up to five bucks.

The candy will then go to a charity called Blue Star Moms, which is a nonprofit that supports New Mexico soldiers.

Dr. Wall told KRQE, “Those are thankless jobs. They are in the world in terrible places putting their lives on the line for us. It’s just a way that we can give back.”

This isn’t the first time Dr. Wall has done this. Last year his office collected more than 1,000 pounds of candy.

Meanwhile, police outside Philadelphia are looking into children’s candy being tampered with this Halloween.

The Kennett Square Police Department posted on Facebook that a “needle type item” was found in various candy bars.

According to reports, no one has been injured or ingested the tampered candy.

Police are asking if anyone with Halloween candy that has not been eaten to check it for possible foreign objects.

The Philadelphia area is not alone in discovering mysterious objects in their treats.

Police in Minnesota are investigated an incident after a woman reported finding a needle in her child’s candy.

West Virginia’s Tyler County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that a mother “found a piece of a disposable razor blade in a bite size Snickers bar."


Other similar incidents have been reported in Ohio and Massachusetts.
