X-Men Producer Vanishes and Family Wants Help Bringing Him Home
Up and coming visual effects producer Eric Kohler has been missing since November 24.
An up-and-coming Hollywood producer, whose credits include two X-Men films, has been missing since before the Thanksgiving holiday and his family is tirelessly searching for their son.
The Los Angeles Police Department and the family of Eric Anthony Kohler are looking for information on the 27-year-old, who vanished November 24.
Kohler was last seen leaving his work in the city of Gardena without his wallet, laptop or bag. He never returned.
According to a news release from the LAPD, Kohler’s vehicle, a 2015 black 4-door Land Rover, license plate 7KIM941, was last seen traveling north on Western Avenue from Imperial Highway.
Lt. Joseph Sanchez of the LAPD’s Pacific Division told KTLA that detectives were investigating a tip that he may have shown up on surveillance video taken at a South L.A. Food 4 Less market.
Phone GPS records appeared to point to the grocery store, but Kohler's trail went cold there and it is believed he switched off his phone.
"And he literally disappeared,” his father, Tony Kohler, told NBC Bay Area. “It's heartbreaking. It's damn heartbreaking."
Kohler's family has flooded social media with a missing person poster as well as the hashtag #FindKohler.
They came down from Oakley in Northern California after their son's disappearance to plaster neighborhoods with his photo.
Kohler arrived to LA fresh out of high school and worked his way from receptionist to become a visual effects producer.
He's since worked on films including World War Z, San Andreas and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
"He had big ambition to work hard and that's what he's been doing and something bad happened," said his mother, Sheryi Kohler.
Mr. Kohler is described as white, with brown hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a light blue short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and brown suede shoes. He was also wearing a brown leather, chrome plated watch.
If you have seen, or have any information regarding the whereabouts of Eric Anthony Kohler, please contact the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Person Unit, Detective K. Thomas at (213) 996-1800.
