It was a night to remember at the 52nd Annual Grammy awards, with Beyonce winning a record six awards. But it was Michael Jackson's children who stole the show. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
As 26 million people watched on TV, Michael Jackson's kids stole the show at the 52nd Grammy Awards, accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award for their late father.
"We are proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson," said the eldest child, Prince.
Dressed in matching little black suits with red armbands, Jackson's two eldest children showed remarkable poise before an audience of industry giants. Beyonce looked as if she was praying for them to do well.
12-year-old Prince wrote his own speech, saying, "I would like to thank God for watching over us and Grandma and Grandpa for their love and support."
And Paris broke everyone's heart when she said, "Thank you. We love you Daddy."
But where was Jackson's youngest son Blanket? It turns out he was backstage. The 7-year-old became overwhelmed and backed out of the appearance just minutes before he was supposed to go on.
INSIDE EDITION's Lisa Guerrero reports, "There was a lot of mixed reaction on the red carpet about that Michael Jackson tribute featuring his young children. In fact, former child star Aaron Carter had some very strong words about it."
"If it was Michael, I don't think he would condone anything like that," said Aaron Carter.
Lisa asked Carter, "Why do you think Michael wouldn't condone it?"
He responded, "If I was a father, and I had children, and I grew up in the industry the same way Michael did, I wouldn't necessarily want them to be in the limelight like that."
LL Cool J said, "I don't see any reason why a child shouldn't be allowed to honor their father."
A 3-D video tribute to Jackson was played. And there was a jaw-dropping moment when Pink performed aerial acrobatics like something out of Cirque du Soleil. She made it look easy, but she was dizzy by the end of it.
"I thought I was going to fall on my nude butt," she told People magazine.
It was also a big night for Taylor Swift, who took home four Grammys, including Album of the Year. What you didn't see onstage was Taylor struggling to hold all four Grammys in the press room. One actually fell and broke into pieces.
But the biggest winner of the night was Beyonce, who won six awards...a record for a female artist.
On the red carpet, Fergie was getting a last minute make-up touch up while her husband Josh Duhamel looked on. Mike "The Situation" from MTV's the Jersey Shore, showed off his ripped abs and struck a pose with castmate Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who better look out for comedian Kathy Griffin, who was looking for a fight.
Kathy Griffin told INSIDE EDITION, "If I lose, I'm going to be bitter and I'm going to be getting into a fist fight with Snooki."
And what a difference a year makes for Rihanna. Last year at this time, she was bruised and bloodied after Chris Brown beat her. This year she beamed as she stepped on stage to accept Best Rap Song, and happily lifted Beyonce's nephew Juelz to the microphone to say hello.
