Bono introduced the band as “our brothers in arms whose lives are forever changed,” following the Paris attack.
Eagles of Death Metal triumphantly walked on stage and sang Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power” with U2.
As soon as the song ended, Bono told Eagles of Death Metal that the stage was theirs. The band then proudly performed their single “I Love You All The Time” in front of the sold-out crowd.
Eagles of Death Metal are encouraging other artists to perform that song and will donate all of the proceeds to charity to aid the victims of the Paris massacre.
Singer Jesse Hughes told the crowd: “We will never give up rock and roll” as the song ended. They took their final bows on stage with U2, who joined them before ending the night.
During a performance on Sunday, Bono had a message of support for the people Paris during a song inspired by the town, “City of Blinding Lights,” he said: “Tonight we are all Parisiens. Ce soir nous somme tous Parisien...If you love liberty – Paris is your hometown.”
The Irish rockers also displayed the names of the victims along the screens that hung over the arena.
