Man Enlists Police Officer To Help Him Propose At Staged Traffic Stop
Police help man in Iowa propose to his girlfriend by staging a traffic stop.
A woman in Iowa thought her boyfriend was going to get arrested after he was pulled over for speeding didn't know it was all part of an elaborate proposal plan.
Jeff Schlute and his girlfriend Jenna were driving to Thanksgiving dinner when they were pulled over by Officer Matt Chiles. The stop was actually staged so that Jeff could pop the question and the officer captured the whole thing on his body camera.
In July Officer Chiles pulled Jeff over speeding in front of Jenna’s parents’ house, as he was going to meet them for the first time.
When Jeff decided to propose he called on an old friend at the Johnston Police Department to help him out.
The police officer went through all the motions of a typical traffic stop, before telling Jeff he had a warrant out for theft. Jeff stepped out of the car while the officer pretended to frisk him.
Jenna was then asked to step out the car to identify merchandise that was possibly stolen. That’s when Jeff got down on one knee and proposed.
