ISIS Threatens 'Final Battle' With the West as 2016 Kicks Off

The world is welcoming 2016 under the shadow of terror concerns as reports of ISIS plots to attack New Year’s celebrations in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

There are reports that ISIS is planning a "final battle" with the Western world.

New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton noted reported threats are not worth worrying over, saying at a press conference: “We are not aware of any threat at this time that we deem credible and we have a constant threat analysis stream that we are constantly reviewing.”

The FBI says it stopped an ISIS supporter and so-called lone wolf, who they say was planning to attack a crowded restaurant in Rochester, New York on New Year's Eve.

Emanuel L. Lutchman, 25, allegedly tried to join ISIS but was told to stay in America and attack a target on New Year’s Eve, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported. 

The accused would-be terrorist also reportedly made a video pledging loyalty to ISIS, which authorities said he planned to release after the attack.

There is tighter security than ever before at traditional New Year’s celebrations across America, including all the college bowl games and The Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, just 50 miles from San Bernardino.

Troops are on the streets in Brussels, Belgium, where the government called off a traditional New Year fireworks display in fear of a terrorist attack.

Workmen were seen dismantling the viewing stand.

A fireworks display was also canceled in Paris, where hotels bookings are down 40 percent.

In the U.S., people are being urged to remain vigilant but go about their lives and celebrate 2016.
