Camille Cosby is Trying to Delay Her Deposition in Her Husband's Defamation Case
Camille Cosby is filing an emergency motion to delay her scheduled deposition.
Bill Cosby's wife, Camille, is fighting efforts to have her testify in the defamation case brought by seven of her husband's accusers.
Her attorney has filed an emergency motion asking to delay the deposition scheduled for Wednesday in Massachusetts on grounds that the women suing Bill have “indicated that they intend to disclose Mrs. Cosby's deposition testimony, including her private marital conversations to the press."
Joseph Cammarata, who will question Camille, told INSIDE EDITION: “Bill Cosby is a powerful man with legions of lawyers but the courtroom is the great equalizer. My clients have had their name sullied; it will be restored after this case is heard.”
Attorney Lisa Bloom, who represents accuser Janice Dickinson, told IE: "She has to show up and answer questions but her attorneys can still interpose all of their objections including spousal privilege - ordinarily a wife does not have to testify against a husband."
Camille, who has been married to the comedian for more than 50 years, previously tried to fight a subpoena to give a deposition on Wednesday, claiming it be "an undue burden on her and invade her rights to privacy." But a judge ruled she must give a deposition.
Should she speak, Camille will be grilled about her husband's "sexual proclivities” and whether or not she ever "procured drugs for him."
Cosby has denied all accusations of misconduct.
