Top Dog! German Shorthaired Pointer Takes It All In 2016 Westminster Kennel Club Show
GCH Vjk-Myst Garbonita's California Journey, better known as CJ, took top prize in this year's prestigious purebred competition.
His name is long but you can just call this year's top dog at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show "CJ."
The three-year-old German shorthaired pointer beat out 2,751 other entries dogs to be crowned Best in Show in New York City on Tuesday.
CJ, whose official name is GCH Vjk-Myst Garbonita's California Journey, claimed the prestigious purebred competition as his 18th best in show victory, reports the AP.

"He has that extra sparkle," his proud handler, Valerie Nunes Atkinson, said. "He's an old soul."
CJ also benefits from some top notch genes. His grandmother took the same title in 2005.
CJ beat out two favorites to become the third of his breed to claim the coveted WKC title.

A borzoi named Lucy--the show's best hound-- finished just behind CJ to claim the runner-up distinction of Reserve Best In Show.
CJ also beat out a shih tzu, bulldog, a German shepherd, a Samoyed and a Skye Terrier for the top spot.
