Spotlight Snags Best Picture Oscar as Leo Finally Takes Home Gold
Spotlight won best picture, but it was also a big night for Mad Max: Fury Road, Brie Larson, and especially for Leonardo DiCaprio.
Spotlight, an ensemble drama about a group of reporters who uncover proof of sex abuse in the Catholic church, took best picture at Sunday night's Oscars, capping off a night as lighthearted and fun as it was controversial.
It was also a big night for the talent behind Mad Max: Fury Road. The film about a futuristic dystopia won gold for Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design.
Brie Larson was, perhaps, the star of the evening. She took home the Best Actress prize for her role as a woman imprisoned for years inside a shed with her son, Room.

The actor has been nominated at the Oscars six times. Sunday's win was his first.
After thanking his fellow actors and those behind The Revenant, DiCaprio closed with a statement about climate change.
"The world that we collectively felt in 2015, the hottest year in recorded history," he said. "Climate change is real...It is the most urgent threat facing our species.
"We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak to big polluters...for our children's children.
