Ang Lee, George Takei Receive Apology From Oscars Over 'Tasteless' Asian Jokes
The Academy has responded to 25 members who sent the letter.
Almost three weeks after the Oscars comes yet another apology from the Academy.
Star Trek star George Takei, director Ang Lee, comic Margaret Cho and actress Sandra Oh were among those who sent the letter.
"We'd like to know how such tasteless and offensive skits could have happened," it read.
The Academy has since responded in a statement.
"It pains us that any aspect of the show was considered offensive, and we apologize for any hurt the skits caused,” it said.
