Paris Terror Suspect On The Run Arrested in Belgium: 'We Got Him'
Fugitive Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam was wounded during a raid Brussels, officials said.
A key Paris terror suspect was arrested Friday during a raid in Brussels, officials said.
Salah Abdeslam, 26, was wounded in the leg by heavily armed police who surrounded him in an apartment in the Molenbeek area, the BBC reported.
“We got him,” said Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration Theo Francken.
The suspect’s fingerprints were found in a Brussels apartment raided on Tuesday. Another terror suspect, Algerian national Mohamed Belkaid, was shot dead during that raid.
Abdeslam has been on the run since the November terror attacks that killed 130 people in Paris. He had lived in Brussels before the France bombings.
His brother, Brahim Abdeslam, blew himself up during the Nov. 13 massacre.
Most of the suspects died during the attacks or were killed in later police raids, the BBC reported.
