Margot Robbie Will Star As Tonya Harding in New Biopic
The "Wolf of Wall Street" actress will play the disgraced ice skater in an upcoming film.
Margot Robbie is set star as ice skater Tonya Harding in an upcoming biopic.
The movie will be called I, Tonya, although there is no word on who will play Harding's rival, Nancy Kerrigan.
Kerrigan was famously attacked as she prepared for the Olympics in 1994.
It emerged that the attacker was hired by Harding's then husband, Jeff Gillooly, to break Kerrigan's leg. She only suffered bruises and went on to win the silver medal, while Harding came in eighth.
Harding claimed she only learned of the attack after it happened but admitted to obstructing the investigation. She was stripped of her 1994 nationals title and banned from the U.S. Figure Skating Association for life.
Robbie, who is Australian, is best known for her roles in The Suicide Squad, The Wolf of Wall Street and her bathtub scene in The Big Short.
