Hero Girl, 5, Saves Mom From Drowning After She Has a Seizure While in a Swimming Pool

A Texas girl is being called a hero after she managed to pull her mother to safety.

A 5-year-old Texas girl is being hailed as a hero after she managed to pull her mother to safety after she had a seizure in a swimming pool.

Allison Anderwald was swimming with her mom, Tracy, on Friday when their brush with tragedy occurred.

While Tracy was in the middle of the pool, she suffered a seizure and began to drown, KRISTV reports.

Thinking fast, Allison dove into the pool and grabbed her mother.

After several heroic tries, the little girl was able to pull her mother to the shallow end, turn her over and get her head above water.

Allison then ran inside for help.

Her aunt, Tedra Hunt, is calling the rescue a miracle.

"She was really heavy, and I could only get the top part of her out, and then her other daughters ran over and helped me get her out, and so, Allison was able to do that on her own," Hunt told KRISTV. "It's a miracle."

Tracy spent the weekend recovering in the hospital and was reportedly back home with her family--and superhero daughter--by Tuesday.
