Syringe Discovered in Sweatshirt Purchased at Target: Cops
Police hope it is an 'isolated incident.'
Police in New Jersey are warning shoppers to be cautious after a hypodermic needle was discovered in a sweatshirt that was purchased at a Target store.
Cops in Union Beach, New Jersey posted the warning and image of the syringe and what appears to be the black sweatshirt in question on Facebook.
The Target in question was in nearby Middletown and cops hope it is an isolated incident.
“There's no way anyone in the store would have known about this, but we are encouraging everyone to be cautious with their purchases. It is very sad and scary that this is now something that people have to look out for,” they wrote on Facebook.
Authorities are still investigating the situation.
In a statement to InsideEdition.com, Target said: “At Target, the safety and security of our guests and team members is a top priority. We are working with local law enforcement on this matter. Please refer any additional questions to them.”
