Sinead O'Connor Found Safe After She Was Reported Missing
Sinead O'Connor was found in Chicago's north suburb of Wilmette hours after being reported missing.
Sinead O’Connor has been found in Chicago’s north suburb of Wilmette, after being reported missing following a bike ride Sunday morning.
The Irish singer was found 2 p.m. Monday after not returning from a 6 a.m. bike ride Sunday.
The Wilmette police released a statement saying she is “safe and is no longer listed as a missing/endangered person.”
The news came after a desperate search for the troubled musician.
Police in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette had previously said they were "seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O’Connor.”
"O'Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 a.m. and has not returned," their statement said. "A caller has expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time."
According to TMZ, an alert sent by police called the Irish singer “missing suicidal.”
The singer has been candid for years about her battle with depression.
She received mental health treatment last November after posting an alarming suicide threat on Facebook, writing: "I’ve taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect."
