Grisly Scene as Alligators Are Found Feasting on Dead Body in Florida Canal

Fishermen in Davie, Florida made a gruesome discovery, as did at least two hungry gators.
Some Florida fishermen made a startling Memorial Day discovery near the Everglades when they stumbled upon bloated human remains.
Even more gruesome: Some alligators found the body first.
According to police in Davie, at least two of the reptiles were feeding on the corpse, which was found floating in a canal by a fisherman.

Police showed up after the fishermen called 911.
"In my time at Davie, I've never come across a case where you have alligators getting at remains but I'm sure it's happened before," Sgt. Pablo Castaneda told CBS Miami.
Realizing they had to get the remains out of the canal while avoiding the menacing gators, Davie police enlisted the help of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Carol Lyn Parrish told InsideEdition.com that a certified trapper was dispatched to the scene.

"There were at least two alligators in the area," said Parrish. However, "the trapper determined they did not need to be removed."
With the go-ahead from the wildlife expert, a diver safely retrieved the body and no alligators were harmed.
Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased remains — which were likely in the water for at least several days — a mystery and the investigation is ongoing.
Police say they are treating the death as a homicide until they determine otherwise.
