Richard Simmons Tries to Reassure Fans After Fitness Guru's Hospitalization: 'Now I Am Feeling Great!'
The exercise icon has opened up on Facebook after he was hospitalized following some "bizarre behavior."
Richard Simmons is reassuring fans he is fine after a medical scare over the weekend left him hospitalized.
The fitness guru took to Facebook Monday morning, saying: "Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern. I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great!"
Along with the post was a photo of Simmons giving the "A-OK" sign. However, the photo appears to be from years ago, stoking speculation that Simmons’ condition is more serious than originally thought.

In a separate post, Simmons took the opportunity to use his latest drama as a PSA, saying: "Summer is here — drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring."
Simmons hasn't been seen in public in nearly three years. Last March, troubling reports said he was being held prisoner in his own home by his longtime housekeeper, Teresa Reveles.
Simmons denied the reports in a phone call with the Today show's Savannah Guthrie.
