The last message Mina Justice got from her son read "He has us... "
An Orlando mother shared the last messages she received from her son as he was held hostage inside the Pulse nightclub.
Mina Justice told reporters outside the Pulse Nightclub that her 30-year-old son, Eddie, was still missing Sunday morning after being held with multiple other club goers in the bar's women's restroom.
"He's coming," Eddie wrote to his mom after running into the restroom to flee from a shooter police have identified as Omar Mateen.
"The next text said: 'He has us, and he's in here with us,'" Mina Justice said. "That was the last conversation."
With unmistakable heartbreak on her face, Justice said she'd yet to hear anything further from her son as the sun came up over Orlando.
Justice said all she and her family can now do is pray.
Meanwhile, authorities at a Sunday morning press conference announced the fatalities had risen to 50.
Of the additional 50-plus injured people, "many" were considered to be in critical condition.

Police say Mateen was shot and killed by police three hours into the ordeal, which reportedly began in the Pulse parking lot.
After a police officer engaged with the suspect, he went inside Pulse, creating a hostage situation. The shooter reportedly had an AR-15 style weapon as well as a handgun.
Authorities managed to save about 30 people by crashing through a wall in an armored vehicle.
The incident is being investigated as a domestic terror event.
