17-Year-Old Poses in Robe for His Senior Portraits

Evan Dennison, an incoming senior at Portage High School in Indiana, said he wears the robe all the time.

Every high school student commemorates their impending graduation with senior portraits, but the gown this Indiana teen wore in his photos wasn’t exactly what his school or his parents had in mind.

Evan Dennison, 17, an incoming senior at Portage High School, posed in his bathrobe.

“Most graduation pictures I see are really formal and stuff, so I didn't want to do that,” Evan told InsideEdition.com. “I wanted it to be something that was like really funny, not so formal, kind of goofy, so I decided it would be way better done in a bathrobe.”

He also thought it’d be the most natural outfit choice since he wears the robe frequently.

“I just wear it all the time,” he said. “This is my only robe, I don't even remember how long I've had it, I just like it. “

He explained that it was his cousin, Tiffany Clark of Chaos and Clark Photography, who took his portraits, and when she picked him up, he was in his sweatpants.

“I changed in the field into my robe,” Evan said. “Me and her argued for about five minutes for me to take it off, and I won the argument, clearly.”

Evan originally thought it’d be something he and his friends could laugh about at their reunion, but his photos, navy robe blowing in the wind, quickly went viral.

Evan said even though he’s reveling in the internet glory, he’s not quite sure he’ll bring the robe around again.

“I don't think I'm going to wear it to prom or anything, but I might bring it with me, for good luck,” he joked.
