University of Connecticut's Big Win
The women's basketball team of University of Connecticut celebrates their 89th consecutive win. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
The UConn Women's basketball team made history.
"89 consecutive wins, more that anyone in Division 1 college basketball history ..."
There were hugs and cheers as the UConn women celebrated their 89th straight win...breaking the old record set in 1974 by UCLA's men's team.
Fans in the sold out crowd held up "89" signs and the players wore t-shirts that read "89 and counting."
UConn hasn't lost since April 6, 2008, and coach Geno Auriemma got a congratulatory phone call from President Obama.
Geno reportedly said, "We have not lost since you've been inaugurated. How about we keep that streak going another couple years, huh?"
