The gunman was reportedly killed after police entered the Kinopolis theater in Viernheim, about 44 miles away from Frankfurt.
No one was injured, but 25 people were suffering from the effects of tear gas that was fired into the theater, Bild daily reported.

Earlier reports out of Germany had indicated the gunman had killed several people and wounded dozens of others.
