Almost two dozen are dead, including 4-year-old Edward McMillion, after devastating floods swept through the Mountain State this week.
Nearly two dozen are confirmed dead, including a 4-year-old boy, after devastating floods swept through West Virginia in recent days.
The body of Edward McMillion was recovered Friday not far from where authorities say the boy was killed after jumping into rushing water near his Ravenswood home.
McMillion is one of 23 people killed in the southern part of the Mountain State since the "one-in-a-thousand-year event" began Thursday.
The search for McMillion's remains lasted several hours. A GoFundMe page has been created to help the boy's family cover funeral costs.
"This family is not only overcome with grief but also the burden of funeral and other exspences for this sweet little boy who has touched all our heart in this horrific tragedy. If you have it to give lets lift this family up in Prayer and help take some of the burden from them if you can financially and donate," a loved one wrote on the page.
Another young boy was killed in Ohio County on Thursday.
Emanual Williams, 8, was walking with his sister and mother down the middle of a creek when he slipped and was pulled underat about 3 p.m. Thursday, Wheeling Police Deputy Chief Martin Kimball told InsideEdition.com.
"The flooding we experienced Thursday and into today is among the worst in a century for some parts of the state,” Governor Earl Ray Tomblin said Friday. “Our team in the Emergency Operations Center worked through the night and continues to coordinate efforts with local officials today.
