TV Weatherman Arrested on Child Pornography Charges After Cops Raid His Home
The TV weatherman allegedly had child porn on his home computer, police said.
A TV weatherman has been arrested on child pornography charges in Connecticut, according to state police.
WTNH-TV meteorologist Justin Goldstein was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance, the Connecticut State Police said in a statement.
Goldstein, 33, was arrested at the station after officers executed a search warrant at his home in Hamden, authorities said.
He has posted a $200,000 bond and is due in court on July 26, police said.
“We are deeply concerned by the allegations. Until the matter is resolved, Justin Goldstein is suspended from his duties at WTNH,” station general manager Mark Higgins said in a statement.
The station posted a story about the arrest on its website.
Goldstein had been under investigation since June, when video files of suspected child porn were downloaded to an internet account belonging to Goldstein, according to state police.
Officers searching his home computer found child pornography files on his device, police said.
It was not clear whether Goldstein was represented by an attorney. As of Wednesday night, his professional Facebook page had been taken down and he had not made any public statements.
