Papa John's Worker Fired After Writing N-Word on Delivery Receipt
A black Colorado family was horrified when a pizza delivered to their had the N-word written along the side.
A pizza shop employee in Colorado was fired this week after writing the N-word on the receipt of a box purchased by a black family.
Adam Duncan Jr., 17, picked up a pizza from the Green Valley Ranch Papa John’s Tuesday for his family to eat at their home.
Hours later, his father reportedly saw the racist epithet typed on the side of the box.
A photo soon showed up on Facebook of appears to be a Papa John's Pizza box with the N-word printed on the receipt dated July 19.
The angry firestorm that ensued sparked an investigation at the store, for which Fard posted a phone number and the name of the franchise owner.
Corporate officials spoke out on the matter and said the individual at fault was identified and has been fired.
"We have spoken with the customer and apologized for this incident. The former-employee that created this offensive label was African-American and claims that he knew the person ordering the pizza from high-school.
"We unequivocally do not condone this behavior and have terminated his employment," the company said in a statement.
For his part, Duncan told KUSA there's nothing funny about the racial slur, regardless of whether he knew the employee or not.
"That’s nothing to joke about,” the teen said.
