Woman Who Wowed Visitors at Lincoln Memorial With National Anthem Does It Again at DNC
Star Swain went from being an internet sensation to the headlining singer at the DNC.
The Florida school administrator who became an internet sensation after a recording surfaced of her singing the national anthem at the Lincoln Memorial has blown away the crowd at the DNC.
Star Swain, 34, opened the final day of the DNC inside Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center with the same voice that captivated America last month.
“I am fighting back tears,” she told Inside Edition before taking the stage. “It is beyond my wildest imagination... All I can say is ‘wow!’ This is blowing my mind.”
The clip of Swain singing the anthem at the Lincoln Memorial has racked up 35 million views and it got her a shot as a convention performer.
She told Inside Edition that the moment that changed her life was done on a dare. She and friends were discussing the acoustics in the Memorial on a trip to Washington, D.C., and she just burst into song.
“I just did it,” she told Inside Edition. “I never would have thought that it would have blown up to be something so big.”
