Debra Messing Apologizes After Slamming Blake Shelton for Trump Comments

The actress said her 'passions' got the best of her.

Actress Debra Messing has apologized to singer Blake Shelton after letting her political "passions" got the best of her following his praise of Donald Trump.

The Will & Grace star lashed out at Shelton for telling Billboard magazine: "Whether you love him [Trump] or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don't always have to be so afraid."

Messing tweeted to his girlfriend Gwen Stefani: “Omg. How? @gwenstefani please talk to your man to not vote for the person who will strip you of your rights.”

Shelton responded: "I haven't [endorsed] anybody for president. And [I’m] not going to."

“Ok- I regret commenting. My passions got the better of me. Sorry. @gwenstefani @blakeshelton," the actress tweeted.

The Voice judge and country singer accepted the apology, telling Messing: "Thank you sis.. I don't endorse anybody. For this very reason!!"
