3 Girls Injured In 40-Foot Fall From County Fair Ferris Wheel

Three Tennessee girls fell 35 to 45 feet when the basket they were riding in dumped them to the ground.
A group of Tennessee girls' pleasant day at the county fair turned ugly this week when they plummeted some 40 feet from a Ferris wheel.
The three victims were at the Greene County Fair on Monday when authorities say the basket they were riding in overturned, dumping them to the ground.
All three required immediate medical treatment.

Two of the children were alert and talking after they fell from the attraction. A third child has a head injury and is in the ICU at a Johnson City hospital, according to WVLT.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate the incident.
All the fair's rides that are operated by Family Attractions Amusement Company will remain closed until a third party inspector deems them safe to operate.

The accident occurred just a day after the 10-year-old son of a state lawmaker suffered a fatal neck injury on a slide at a water park in Kansas.
Back in May, an 11-year-old Nebraska girl was partially scalped when she slipped in her ride seat at a carnival run by a different company and her hair was caught in a spinning mechanism.
