Trump Goes Off on 'Morning Joe' Hosts Joe Scarborough and 'Girlfriend' Mika Brzezinski: '2 Clowns!'
The rant followed Brzezinski's remark that Trump appeared drunk at the RNC.
A furious Donald Trump has clearly had it with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, blasting the Morning Joe co-hosts in a strongly-worded Twitter tirade.
During the Monday broadcast, Trump tweeted:
Some day, when things calm down, I'll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 22, 2016
Brzezinski and Scarborough are rumored to be romantically involved.
On Monday, Scarborough and Brzezinski compared Trump's speaking style at the RNC to Hillary Clinton’s speech at the DNC.
“He belted like... honestly... like he's had a lot to drink,” she said.
Trump has said in the past that he doesn't drink because his older brother, Fred, died of alcoholism at age 43.
Trump, apparently set off by the comment, tweeted: “@morningmika is off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess!”
Scarborough and Brzezinski went on with the show without mentioning Trump's tirade. During a commercial break, however, Scarborough tweeted right back at Trump:
“Neurotic and not very bright? Look in the mirror,” the host said.

Scarborough, who uses a photo of Gregory Peck portraying Atticus Finch in the film To Kill A Mockingbird on his Twitter avatar, added:
@HillaryClinton is targeting key swing states today while Trump starts his day obsessed with cable news hosts while channeling Gawker. SAD!

The talk show host's response appears to have ended the war for now.
