On Thursday, she scooted past cameras and climbed into an SUV, heading to Manhattan to rehearse for the show at Madison Square Garden.

The singer’s last appearance 9 years ago was widely panned as a disaster. Her return to the VMAs has been seen as an opportunity to redeem herself.

Also appearing at the blockbuster event are America’s Olympic sweethearts — The Final Five. So will Michael Phelps.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will sit on the front row. West has been given four minutes by the show’s producers to do whatever he wants, which may lead to some issues with fellow entertainer Taylor Swift.

In fact, the "Bad Blood" singer may not show up.

The “Umbrella” singer will also perform at the event.
