Following the death of golf legend and soft drink connoisseur Arnold Palmer, everyone from Tiger Woods to President Obama is paying homage to "The King."
Palmer, 87, who dominated his sport during a time when golfers from all walks of life began taking to the links for the first time, died Sunday in Pittsburgh. The cause of death was not immediately clear.

But what is clear is Palmer's inspiration for a new generation of players that included Tiger Woods.
"Thanks Arnold for your friendship, counsel and a lot of laughs. Your philanthropy and humility are part of your legend," Woods wrote on Twitter. "It’s hard to imagine golf without you or anyone more important to the game than the King."
Palmer also had a fan in the commander-in-chief, who posted a photo taken during the golfer's visit to the Oval Office.
"Here's to The King who was as extraordinary on the links as he was generous to others. Thanks for the memories, Arnold," the president tweeted.
Another golfer and presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, also tweeted about Palmer's death.
"Really sad news: The great Arnold Palmer, the "King," has died. There was no-one like him - a true champion! He will be truly missed," Trump wrote.
Palmer's chief rival during his years in the spotlight, Jack Nicklaus, mourned his friend's death in a lengthy tribute on Facebook.

"We just lost one of the incredible people in the game of golf and in all of sports. My friend—many people’s friend—just wore out," Nicklaus wrote, in part.
Outside his career on the links, Palmer was also a household name thanks to the soft drink he invented.
The Arnold Palmer, a mixture of sweet tea and lemonade, is even sold by Arizona iced teas in packaging bearing Palmer's likeness and signature.
