19-Year-Old Pregnant Mom and 7-Month-Old Baby Killed Just Hours After She Got Engaged

The crash occurred on Christmas Eve.
A pregnant 19-year-old and her 7-month-old son were killed in a car crash on Christmas Eve, just hours after the young mom got engaged to the father of her child.
Suspected drunk driver Jillian Ramsay was allegedly fleeing the scene of an earlier crash in Louisiana when she crashed into the car that Shelly Mulkey and her son, Ryan McCollum Jr., were riding in.
Both cars caught fire, police said.
Mulkey’s anguished fiancé, Ryan McCollum Sr., had only contempt for Ramsay.
"That's three lives she took from me," McCollum told The Advocate.
Witnesses pulled McCollum, who was also in the vehicle at the time of crash, from the car along with Mulkey as the car caught fire, but the couple’s baby did not get out of the vehicle, reports said.
Mulkey and the Ryan Jr. were pronounced dead at the scene, reports said.
Ramsay suffered only minor injuries.
McCollum told the paper that he found out over the weekend that Mulkey was expecting another child, and decided to propose on Christmas Eve.
"I got a ring out and asked her to marry me. I got on one knee," he told The Advocate.
Ramsay, 36, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, hit-and-run and careless operation of a vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
