Grandfather in Clown Mask, Boxing Gloves Menaces Students Through School Windows: Cops
David Dahlman, 55, charged by Oregon authorities with menacing disorderly conduct in the second degree after the alleged stunt.
An Oregon man was arrested this week after cops say he capitalized on rampant clown fear currently gripping the nation by allegedly showing up at a school wearing a clown mask and boxing gloves.
Police officers first responded to reports that a man in a clown mask was chasing kids and trying to fight an adult male Thursday morning, according to a Portland Police Bureau statement.
Officers arrived in the area and contacted the caller, Floyd Light Middle School assistant principal Chris Stevens, who told them a suspect was outside the school, wearing a clown mask and boxing gloves, and was alarming students by standing outside school windows and shadow boxing.
Stevens went outside to speak to the suspect, who allegedly threatened the assistant principal with physical violence and charged at him, according to the release.
Cops say the suspect then ran away toward a nearby mobile home park. Officers responded and found the suspect in one of the residences.
David Dahlman, 55, was arrested without incident and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Menacing Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.
Officers say Dahlman walked his grandkids to the school bus stop wearing the outfit before allegedly "creating the disorder outside the middle school," according to the statement.
