Did Alex Trebek Really Call This 'Jeopardy!' Contestant a 'Loser'?
"It's called 'nerdcore' hip hop. It's people who identify as nerdy rapping about the things they love," said Susan Cole, who left the show with $22,600.
Jeopardy! viewers were met with a shockingly blunt Alex Trebek when he characterized one contestant as a "loser" on Wednesday's show.
Susan Cole, of Bowie, Maryland, told Trebek she was a fan of "nerdcore" hip-hop, when the host paused, and asked her to explain.
"It's called 'nerdcore' hip hop," she began. "It's people who identify as nerdy rapping about the things they love. Video games, science-fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners. It's really fun."
Without skipping a beat, the Jeopardy! host responded: "Losers, in other words."
While fans laughed uncomfortably at the incident, it seems Cole ended up with the last laugh.
The contestant, who works as a legislative librarian, beat out her competition and walked away with $22,600.
