Security Intensifies at Model Miranda Kerr's Malibu Mansion Following Shootout
The model was not home during the frightening encounter.
Security is being beefed up at the Malibu home of supermodel Miranda Kerr following a shootout at her residence.
An intruder, believed to be homeless, shot at Kerr’s mansion Friday morning.
He gained access to the property but was taken down by the model’s bodyguard, who was stabbed in the eye.
According to reports, the intruder was shot four times, twice in the chest and twice in the shoulder.
In a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, they said: “The guard was stabbed in the facial injury and he had minor injuries. He produced a handgun and shot the intruder three to four times in the face and torso. Neither the guard nor the intruder has life threatening injuries.”
The guard who was stabbed was airlifted to a hospital for treatment according to a tweet from the Special Enforcement Bureau, a division of the L.A. County Sheriff’s department.
Kerr, 33, who has a 5-year-old son with actor Orlando Bloom, was not home at the time. She purchased the home in 2014 following her split from the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
She is currently engaged to billionaire Evan Spiegel, the founder of Snapchat.
The unnamed intruder is expected to face charges.
