Mom Accused of Having Sex While Daughter Drowned in Bathtub Charged in Girl's Death

Amanda Ann Clark left her three daughters, ages 6, 3 and 23 months, alone in a filled bathtub while she had sex with a man, authorities said.
A 26-year-old Texas woman was arrested in connection to her toddler daughter’s death after the little girl drowned in a bathtub while her mother was having sex in another room, authorities said.
Amanda Ann Clark left her three daughters, ages 6, 3 and 23 months, alone in a filled bathtub while she had sex with a man in her Alvord bedroom on October 23, an arrest warrant obtained by News 8 said.
Clark told investigators that she was spending time with “a male companion,” but the man said that he had come over for a “booty call” and that while he was waiting for her in the bedroom, she was gathering the children, authorities said.
While their mother and the man were in her bedroom with the door closed, the 3-year-old girl innocently pushed her little sister, Alexandria, under the water and she drowned, the 6-year-old girl later told investigators.

The 6-year-old child went into the bedroom to tell her mother that Alexandria, who would have turned two years old Friday, had stopped breathing, the affidavit said.
Clark frantically tried to save her daughter, performing CPR and calling 911 while yelling for help, the affidavit and witnesses said.
“She was screaming, hollering, ‘Help me. Help me.’ She loved those kids,” Jodi Malott, who lives across the street from the family, told News 8.
Clark turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday and was being held at the Wise County Jail on $100,000 bond.
She has been charged with abandoning or endangering a child, a second-degree felony.

The man claimed he didn't know the children were put into the tub and has not been charged with a crime, Fox 4 reported.
Clark’s two other daughters were taken into custody by Child Protective Services, according to reports.
Neighbors, who plan on holding a candlelight vigil for Alexandria Friday, said that the tragic incident does not mean Clark is a bad mother.
"It's just a freak accident. That's what I feel. She would have them out playing all the time, and she was just a good mom,” Diane Blake told FOX 4. "You look over there now, and you don't see the other kids outside playing and riding their bike. It’s sad.”
