As one suspect waved a gun and ordered employees to get on the ground, a second suspect smashed two display boxes with a claw hammer.
The thieves snatched five watches valued at over $300,000.
Cops say both suspects then fled. No injuries were reported.
Jaeger-LeCoultre sits on Madison Avenue in a strip of high-end retailers where wealthy shoppers often go to lay down huge sums for the finest jewelry and clothing, especially during the holiday shopping season.
While both suspects had their faces covered with masks, police hope surveillance video of the heist will help bring the thieves to justice.
One suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds with a light complexion. He wore a black winter coat, black dress pants, a baseball cap and sunglasses and clutched a black handgun.
The second suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds with a light complexion. He wore a gray winter coat, multi-colored ski cap, black pants, black Nike boots, and black sunglasses and was armed with a claw hammer.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-(8477).
