Prince William and fiancée Kate Middleton made their first official royal appearance together since announcing their engagement.
Cheering crowds gathered to greet the royal couple in a remote town in northwest Wales. Middleton, who did not stop smiling, looked quite comfortable in her new public role and happily chatted with well-wishers.
The beaming couple was on hand to launch a Royal National Lifeboat Institute lifeboat
With this most recent appearance, Middleton continues to cement her status as a fashion icon. She wore an elegant tan coat with velvet trim and her chocolate brown scarf and leather gloves perfectly matched her opaque tights and booties. She completed the look with a chic feather cap. A gust of wind revealed a maroon miniskirt under her coat.
Middleton appears to be getting in shape for her big day and she looked fitter than ever.
With Prince William at her side, she christened the inflatable rescue boat by pouring champagne over it. The crowd was delighted with Middleton's champagne dedication and gave the future princess an ovation fit for a queen.
The royal couple will be living in that remote area of Wales for the next two years as the Prince completes his duties as a Royal Air Force rescue pilot.
