Tina Fey, an outspoken Star Wars enthusiast and Carrie Fisher fan, once dressed as Leia in an episode of her series, 30 Rock.
"Carrie Fisher meant a lot to me," the former Saturday Night Live star told The Daily Beast in a statement. "Like many women my age, Princess Leia occupies about 60 percent of my brain at any given time. But Carrie’s honest writing and her razor-sharp wit were an even greater gift. I feel so lucky that I got to meet her. I’m very sad she is gone."
"Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter," Fisher’s mother, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds, said in a statement of her own. "I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop."
