Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Release First Joint Statement: 'Committed to Act as a United Front'
The couple has six children together.
In their first joint statement since their split last September, the two announced they've "signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging in a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."
The couple is effectively shielding the divorce proceedings from the public.
Jolie is seeking physical custody of their six children while her former spouse is looking for joint custody.
The couple, who had been together since 2005, were secretly married in 2014. It was Jolie’s third marriage and Pitt’s second – he was previously married to Jennifer Aniston before divorcing in 2005. He met and worked with Jolie on the action thriller Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
