Toothless Woman Arrested After Officers Find Her Dentures Inside Stolen Car: Cops
The 31-year-old woman left her dentures inside a stolen car, police said.
A toothless woman has been taken into custody by Florida police after her dentures were found inside a stolen car, authorities said.
Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were responding to reports of a suspicious person trying to break into homes when they encountered 31-year-old Lindsey Jean Stanley-McShane, according to an arrest affidavit.
"She was barefooted (sic) and didn't have any teeth. She said she did not know where they were," the document said.
Deputies noticed a nearby car with its doors open and a key in the ignition. A set of dentures and a pair of pink tennis shoes were inside, deputies said.
McShane "was screaming and talking to herself," but acknowledged both items belonged to her, the affidavit said.
The car, a Kia, had been reported stolen in Marion County and had run out of gas, authorities said.
McShane denied stealing the vehicle, saying she had only been a passenger in the car and didn’t know who was behind the wheel, the document said.
She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a suspected drug overdose, authorities said, and was then transported to the Lake County Jail, where she remains in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to online records.
She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
