Denzel Washington is pitted against Casey Affleck for the Best Actor award.
"I love Denzel; his performance in Fences is off the charts," Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer, who will be on the red carpet Sunday, told Inside Edition. "But the numbers right now say it looks like Casey Affleck."
La La Land is expected to dominate Oscar night after receiving 14 nominations, but will politics steal the spotlight?
"Expect the unexpected,” ABC’s Robin Roberts told Inside Edition when asked about whether the show would get political.
She added: "However they chose to spend those 45 seconds is up to them. And I think we are getting a mixed reaction from the public. Some people feel like, 'OK, it’s your right.' Other people are like, 'Enough already.'"
Roberts also commented about the potential appearance from Hillary Clinton.

“I would not be surprised. Jimmy [Kimmel], people like him, they feel safe with him," she said. "It would be a moment and this would be the audience that would be receptive to that," she said.
As for predictions that rain will make Sunday’s Oscars a soggy affair, Spencer said: “We are all in it together and if it rains, it's raining on all of us. The Academy has gotten a huge tent going. Somehow it always works out."
