Ben Affleck Reveals He Completed Treatment for Alcoholism
Affleck said: "I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront."
Ben Affleck took to Facebook on Tuesday to reveal he has completed treatment for alcohol addiction.
The two-time Oscar winner revealed: “I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront. I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be.”
His news comes just days after published reports suggested that he and wife Jennifer Garner have called off their divorce.
“I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery,” he wrote.
Affleck has spoken about his struggle with alcohol in the past, including the fact that his father was an alcoholic. In 2001, the Argo star also sought treatment for alcohol abuse.
