Meredith Vieira Leaving Today?

According to published reports, Meredith Vieira may be leaving Today when her contract is up in the fall. INSIDE EDITION has more.
Is Meredith Vieira planning on leaving the Today show this fall?
The New York Times, TV Guide, and The Hollywood Reporter are all reporting that Vieira is likely to quit the top-rated morning show when her contract is up in September.
"NBC News is desperate to get Meredith to stay on the program. She's beloved by staff, by management, and most importantly, by the viewers," says TV Guide's Stephen Battaglio.
Vieira did not address the reports on Wednesday's show. In a statement, NBC would only say, "The Today Show anchors are currently under contract and firmly in place."
"Meredith loves doing the program. She's not crazy about getting up early, but she loves working on the Today show. However her priorities are her family and that's the reason she's leaving the show," Battaglio says.
Possible replacements include Today's Ann Curry, Natalie Morales, Washington correspondent Savannah Guthrie, and CNBC's Erin Burnett.
Vieira joined the Today show in 2006, replacing Katie Couric. And the news of Vieira's possible departure comes on the heels of speculation that Couric may leave the CBS Evening News to launch her own syndicated talk show.
