Fellow passengers and airline staff rushed to help her.

"We have a passenger that is not conscious assisted by staff on the aircraft and we would like EMTs at the gate," a crew member can be heard saying in an air traffic audio recording.

When asked the nature of the emergency, a crew member responded: "We just have a passenger who is unresponsive. They can't get her to wake up or anything."

Brandy reportedly regained consciousness after she was removed from the plane.

In a statement, Delta said: "The flight crew… returned to the gate, prior to departure, after a customer fell ill on board. Medical personnel met the flight and transported the customer to a local hospital."

It is not yet clear what led her to lose consciousness.
